hair; Pale brown hair grown long, with bangs. She ties back her hair with a pig-tail when she works.
eyes;Perfectly normal medium brown eyes
height; 4'10
build; Holding a wispy quality in appearance, small and slight, long fingers and delicate frame making her look rather weak.
distinguishing features;She has a turned-up pixie nose, and her skin is very sallow and pale
style;Preferring bright colors, Anna's wardrobe seems to make up for her usually mild personality. Having a love of hoodies, she picks them out without any discrimination toward the pattern on them, and no matter what else she's wearing, and she has her favorite pair of purple shoes. It's almost as if anything that was a little eccentric in Anna's personality was channeled into her clothing. It may be a little unprofessional, but Anna figures it doesn't change her veterinary abilities for the better or worse, so why not? It's not as if anyone cares enough about it to stop her. Other than the hoodies, she wears relatively normal, easy clothes- t-shirts and jeans, whatever is clean.

likes;
Hoodies- They're soft, comfortable, warm or cool enough at need be, everywhere... So maybe she's a little obsessed.
Animals- Any kind of animal, she adores: cats, dogs, rats, birds, snakes, bats, anything. She's constantly annoyed by her mother, who won't let her get a pet.
People- Even if she's not talking to them, associated with them in any way, or has no clue who they are, she doesn't like to be alone. The soft buzz of conversation, or just noises of them moving around help her concentrate.
Coffee- Specifically the blended ice frappes. They keep her on her toes, they're sweet, nice in summer... Come on people.
Flute- Anna's been playing the flute since third grade, and now plays in the band. She's pretty good, and she loves it, and practices an hour or so combined every day.
dislikes;
School- She doesn't mind the students, the teachers, even the classes, but Anna views it as an encroachment on the things she wants to do, and homework is even worse. Isn't book work what school is for? She gets it all done though.
Muggy summer days- When it's hot, humid and sticky, Anna just hates it. Thank goodness it's New York.
Interrupters- You interrupt her when she's working hard on something, and she'll bite your head off.
Having nothing to do- For most people, boredom is a mere annoyance, kind of a gray thing. For Anna, it drives her crazy. Being a activity-driven person, if there's nothing to do, she freaks out like a four year old on caffeine.
Meat- She's a vegetarian. Animals may eat each other, but there's no reason for her to- she has grocery stores, animals don't. It doesn't taste all too good anyway.
strengths; Good medic (both humans and animals), teachers think she is a good girl so she can get away with things ('When will they ever catch on about that?'), can climb almost anything
weaknesses; Weak, gullible, too trusting
goals; Become a full-fledged vet
fears; Small, enclosed areas (claustrophobic), a rather irrational fear of a NY bombing/ attack from another country
secrets; Occasionally, she hides animals that need 24 hour care in her cellar (which she made into a neat little lab) during the summer without her mom's permission or knowledge. (No need to get grounded)
overall personality;
Constantly finding something to do, Annabelle is always busy, contentedly running around to do this and that, never really slowing down, but always having enough time to help do a chore or help a bird. When there's no work to be done, Anna becomes a little jumpy and over-talkative, gaining the tendency to ramble from one subject to another, almost entirely to herself. Practically any task will keep her amused, stringing beads for example, or talking, so it is a rare occasion when she spazzes out.
On the opposite end of the scale, when she's working at a particularly difficult task she's bad tempered and waspish whenever interrupted, deadly serious, and intent on the job. It's no time to mess with her when there's an injured animal wasting away. Inside the two extremes, as she normally is, Annabelle is calm and kind, just a little shy, and usually rational, but ever optimistic and sweet tempered, with a little bit of a taste for irony. She tends to feel there is good in everybody- and gives second (and fifth) chances to anyone. You might call her a little gullible in that respect.
Though she takes her work very seriously, Anna has never seen any real terrors of human abuse or accidents. Never having lost a 'patient' yet, she finds the idea of ever doing so depressing, and is worried when she works on some of the worst she is given might not survive. She loves making thing well, and mending them, which is probably why she enjoys her job as assistant veterinarian so much. In this field Anna is friendly, but competitive with anyone that challenges her competency. Not a real fan of not being taken seriously, she'll show off a a bit of her skill to anyone (usually older volunteers) who doubts her, but not being the kind to hold grudges, she figures there's no hard feelings afterward.

At least I know I lived, just a little...
[all these things that i’ve d o n e ]
history;
As a young girl, Annabelle lived a peaceful life with her father and mother in Saint Louis, raised on classic fairy-tales and pepperoni pizza. Back then, she wasn't quite so passionate about animals. Sure, she loved to watch goldfish, and kittens and puppies were sweet, but snakes? She lived an inredibly normal and slightly sheltered life with a protective father and moderate mother. However, arguments between her parents she haden't noticed as a child escalated to a divorse when she was nine.
At this point, under the custody of her mother, Anna moved to Watersburg to be closer to family, and because it offered a good job opportunity for her mother. In an area close to wildlife she quickly became captivated, and eventually started taking care of baby birds. However, because of the small house she and her mother lived in, she was not allowed to have any pets. When she turned eleven, Anna gave up meat, saying it was inhumane, but isn't so extreme with her believes that she would ever advertise them.
Shortly after her fourteenth birthday, Anna got a position volunteering at the Watersburg Veterinary and Rescue Clinic, which she practically threw herself into, getting herself well known among pet-owners who brought their dogs and cats there. One and a half years later she got a paying job as an assistant there, helping with less serious rescues, birds and such, or with baby kittens found abandoned until they were old enough to go to the pound. She has been in that position for th past six months, and is still loving it.

Anna looked grimly down at the baby robin in the standard cardboard blueberry-box that the clinic used, padded with tissue, for replacement nests. The bird was still, nestled in the box under the mild incubation light.
"Is he going to be okay?" The boy, only six or so, asked. He had brought the baby bird in with his mother, who was waiting in the lobby.
"Mmmm..." Anna murmured indistinctly, doing her best to ignore the comment directed at her. She had to concentrate. with a gentle touch, she pushed the bird's head up, checking it's neck. Sure enough, a bone was visible there, jutting and obvious. He had been out a while. Mites were crawling over it rusty orange belly and downy gray back. That was no reassurance... Where was that saline solution?
She turned to the shelf, finding as tiny syringe and and a small bottle full of clear liquid. unscrewing the lid she quickly filled the syringe, tapping the tapered end gently on the side of bird's closed beak.
"Will he be okay?" The boy repeated a little louder, insistently.
"Give me a second..." Anna grumbled in annoyance, impatient as she tried to get the bird to take the solution. It was blinking its sharp black eyes on her, keeping it's mouth closed. Stubborn bird. It didn't know any better. carefully, she kept prodding, dropping a tiny bead in the top of the baby's beak.
"It's water, dammit." She whispered to it, "Go on..."
"If you won't tell me, I'll leave." The six-year-old boy said in an arrogant tone that that made it seem like everyone wanted his company. It instantly rubbed Anna the wrong way. Despite herself, she took out her frustration with the bird and the interrupting on the little boy, smoldering at him for breaking her concentration.
"Get the f*ck out of here then!" she snapped, before instantly catching herself. Living in a single child house, she had never had to sensor her language. She regretted it.
The boy gasped, a look of glee in his wide blue eyes. "I'm telling mommy!" He lilted, skipping out the swinging door to the room. Anna groaned, lowering herself to a stool, holding the syringe rather limply as she dropped her head into her hand with exasperation at herself. This couldn't be good.
Hearing a cheep from the bird, Anna looked up to find the baby robin gaping it's mouth open, finally ready to take the water thirty seconds too late. Great.
