` There's no turning back,
Full Name: Kanakira M Bengal
Nickname: Kira, Owl.
Age/Date of Birth: 14, 20/10/92
Occupation: None, though does take care of injured animals every now and then…doesn’t get paid though.
` I'll be waiting,
Appearance:
Kira has bright green eyes, and wears gigantic glasses which give the impression her eyes are far too large for her head. This was how she earned the nick-name ‘Owl ’, which most refer to her as. Her dark-brown hair almost always has twigs and leaves tangled within it, for she does manage to get out quite often, and doesn’t bother tidying herself up afterwards. It is short, and looks as though she hasn’t combed it in a month, which it probably hasn’t. Her skin is rather pale, and usually sports a few scratches here and there.
She is extremely short for her age, and often is mistaken for a six year old girl because of it, assuming she is won’t bother her, though insulting her about it will usually result in a rat chucked in your general direction. Her real age is about fourteen, but tries to convince others that she’s ten to hide the fact that she is extremely short. Being short, she also lacks physical strength, though is quick on her feet and rather agile to make up for it.
The main noticeable difference from her and a human, would probably be her hands. They are missing the opposable thumb, and the fingers are short, stubby and paw-like. Due to this deformity, Kira has trouble with holding most objects, though has trained herself to be able to pick up a pencil with little trouble. Of course, the fact that she has wings doesn’t really help. They are a pale green and dragonfly shaped, though being relatively small still she is able to tuck them away out of sight. Two antennae are perched in the middle of her head, which she hides in her hair using a hair band to pin them down.
Personal Style:
Kira is not really one for fashion, and usually feels comfortable in a pair of trousers and a plan shirt with maybe three different colors on it at the most. Unless you count stains from food or paint that she recently encountered. She also has an old way-too-big-for-her cloak that she wears when she’s cold. It is grey in color, and has many hidden pockets she’s sewn on throughout the years.
` Lace up your shoes,
Likes:
- Animals, particularly rodents and insects
- Sketching
- The colour Green
- Knowing as much as she can
- People who don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
Dislikes:
- Show-Offs
- Hot Weather
- Water that’s higher then her shoulders
- When people comment on her height
- Enclosed spaces
Strengths:
Is very agile and fast, which gives her an advantage in the defensive side of a fight. She also has a quick reaction time, and can usually dodge attacks from inexperienced opponents.
She is very intelligent, and has a good sense of judgment which makes it hard to lie to her. She has a good memory, but nothing that stands out above the ordinary.
Kira is also good with small animals, and can often be seen walking around with a mouse on her shoulder or holding a rat in her hands.
Weaknesses:
Poor physical strength, so while she is skilled in dodging attacks a good punch or two can easily win against her.
Her height also means that she can’t reach high objects and has on more then one occasion had to jump to reach a door handle. She is unable to fly, simply because she has nether had a chance to learn, that and the fact her wings are still growing.
While intelligent, she needs time to work things out, and when she herself lies it is easily spotted as she tends to cough a lot and stutter while she thinks of a comeback to questions.
Goals:
Not being the most ambitious of beings, Kira currently only has two main goals in her life, to learn how to swim, and how to fly.
Fears:
Kira is pyrophobic, and will even panic at the sight of a lit candle if it comes too close to her. She also has a fear of large bodies of water as she is unable to swim, so has a hard time coping with burns where most would simply retreat to a lake/river to soothe them.
She also doesn’t like enclosed spaces, but if she can freely move her limbs about and the walls of the space are secure she tends to be alright.
Secrets:
Is old-fashioned and has never heard of an I-pod. She likes to watch old British Comedies such as ‘Allo ‘Allo and such, which she doesn’t think will help with any respect she may have earned, as well as loves songs from about the 60’s-70’s era.
Fairy Past:Monty the Earth Fairy. Kira’s familiar is a red-tailed hawk named Dakah. (Yeah… >_>)
Overall Personality:
Kanakira is rather intelligent, beating that of an average human, but nothing overly amazing. She has a good sense of judgment, and is usually willing to give what advice she can should anyone ever ask for it. She tends to keep out of everyone’s way, being one that believes that if she doesn’t annoy anyone, they won’t annoy her. She doesn’t have many friends due to her shy nature, but at the same time doesn’t have many enemies. In class, most people simply know her as ‘Owl, the kid who sits at the back of the class and only talks when answering the Teacher’s questions.‘
However, every so often she gets people at school who never seem to leave her alone, or ‘bullies’ to give a simple explanation. You can usually tell when she’s upset because of them because she becomes more jumpy then usual and tends to snap more at people, though even when angry she isn’t very threatening.
` Don't tell a soul goodbye,
Hometown: Hunter’s City, New York
Current Location: Watersburg, New York
Father: Dan Bengal
Mother: Mia Bengal
Siblings: None
Pets: Kiki the albino rat. Is currently taking care of a swallow nicknamed Squiggles.
History:
Kanakira M Bengal, born to Mia Bengal the Zoologist and Dan Bengal the Vet. While an odd couple with the contrasting personalities, they were indeed a good match for each other. Her mother is somewhat of a free spirited person, and it is believed that Kira inherited her love of animals from her mother, as well as her hair and eyes. As for her large amount of intelligence and love of 70’s music, that was from her father. She was born on the 20th of October, and lived a relatively normal life considering what her future held for her.
By the age of six, it soon became clear that Kira wasn’t going to grow much bigger then her current stature, but she seemed to tolerate it well and never seemed to be truly bothered about it. It was then that she and her parents moved from Hunter’s City to Watersburg, thinking that Kira was simply too fragile and naïve to be sent to the boarding schools in the area. Soon they became official citizens, and Kira grew up with the rest of the children in the area.
However, at the age of ten, that was when her more…abnormal differences began to shine through. Admittedly, the fact her parents worked in a zoo meant that a few of the animals they brought home to look after tended to follow Kira around, but there was this red-tailed hawk that simply wouldn’t leave her alone. Every day it would follow her to and from school, waiting outside the window of her classroom until the teacher shooed it away with the broomstick, and at night it would screech and claw at her window. Finally, having of lost sleep for the fourth time in a row because of it, Kira gave in and opened the window, her parents could deal with it in the morning right?
Well, that’s what she thought anyway, the fact that the hawk had said ‘Salutations’ after settling on the foot of her bed indeed caused a bit of panic. Still, she thought she was dreaming so after starring at it for a few minutes she relaxed and went to sleep. When she woke, it was gone, so she assumed that was the end of it.
It was then that she started attending High School, and at the same time more unusual things began to happen. First off, she kept getting headaches during the day, and had to leave school early quite a few times. Her shoulder blades ached too, but checks from her Dad revealed nothing out of the ordinary. Then again, her Dad was a Vet, not a Human Doctor. It wasn’t until she looked in the mirror one day and spied to antennae sticking out of the hair on the top of her head did she begin to get really scared. Fearing what her parents would think, she hid them away using a head band, which flattened them down so they were hidden with her hair.
That was when her wings started appearing too, meaning that she had to wear her cloak most of the time to hide the small bump in the middle of her back where the wings were folded over. Then, of course, to make things worse the annoying hawk had shown up again. Only this time, it warned her not to tell anyone, not even her parents incase they told someone else. Reluctantly, Kira agreed.
Now, she is fourteen and living the seemingly normal life of most of the children in the area. She hides her abnormalities on the hawk’s instructions, who now accompanies her when she is out of view of humans. Because of this, she usually hangs out in the forest now, where she can talk in peace with her familiar.
` Here's the countdown,
Anything else?:
Kira is aware of the fact that she is a fairy, but doesn’t yet know of her gift of the Earth element, and Dakah, being one who likes to let people figure out things for themselves, hasn’t told her yet.

Roleplay Sample:
Two figures had claimed a tree in one of the parks. One was perched quite comfortably on one of the lower branches, the other desperately trying to climb up the tree.
: You know, you could just fly up. :
“Shut it Dakah…”
: Shut what? :
“Your mouth!...Beak…”
: Technically if I was to shut my beak, it would not make a difference as telepathical speech is generated in the mind, not by speech from the vocal chords. :
A small moan issued from the girl, clearly not in the mood for listening to the other’s rambles. Bright green eyes focused on the ground below her, stubby fingers clawing at the bark of the tree as she tried to conquer the tree. Eventually giving up, the girl exhaled sharply and sat down at the base of the tree, glaring at the hawk as it landed beside her with such an elegant touch that it made her sulk even more.
: Never mind Kanakira, you will learn once your wings have grown to sufficient size and strength to be able to lift you into the air. :
Somehow this seemed to comfort the young girl, who sighed in agreement and gently patted the hawk on the head, who chirped quietly and closed his eyes in contentment.
“So…Any news for me?”
: Actually… :
The hawk shook his head and stretched his wings, a habit he had gained from when he was about to tell something important and/or exciting.
: I was flying around the area, and while I only got a glimpse of her, I could have sworn I saw someone with wings…Interesting? :
Kira’s eyes widened, she had no idea that there were others that might have the same…disease? Mutation? What ever it was, it defiantly grabbed her attention.
“Wings? Are you sure?”
: Well, that is the problem, I only received a glimpse before she left my line of vision…But still, does it not give you some comfort? :
The girl smiled and nodded enthusiastically, indeed, it was a great comfort.
: What is the time? :
“Well, according to my watch it’s- GAH! QUICK! SCHOOL’S IN 15 MINUTES!”
Instant panic filled Kira, who quickly grabbed the schoolbag beside her and began running out of the forest, Dakah awkwardly flapping alongside her.
: Kanakira, you should really visit me in the afternoon, it will not put a strain on your timetable. Besides, do you not think- :
“Okay! Thanks! Bye!”
She was soon out of Dakah’s sight, who sighed and perched on the closest tree, beginning to preen his feathers.
: Some day, I should tell her there are others…but no, give her a chance to discover it herself. :
